N-word video candidate asked Democratic opponent to help him get back on Orange County Disability Advisory Board

Talk about bipartisanship. VoxPopuli has learned that Republican candidate for House District 41 Michael Lincoln-McCreight met recently in Tallahassee with Democrat Rep. Bruce Antone — who he may face in the November general election — to ask for his help getting back on the Orange County Disability Advisory Board.

Lincoln-McCreight resigned from the board on Jan. 23 after a video surfaced of him screaming the N-word and throwing things at a Black female 7-Eleven employee. The employee posted the video (since deleted) to her Tik-Tok where it went viral.

In an interview with VoxPopuli, Lincoln-McCreight attributed his racist rant to "verbal outbursts" that he said people with autism have. He said wants to be the first person with autism spectrum disorder elected to the Florida House.

Antone was asked Monday to respond to Lincoln-McCreight’s claim that he doesn’t attend public meetings, and in that conversation, he noted that he recently met with the first-time candidate — twice.

Democratic State Rep. Bruce Antone of House District 41 says the Republican running for his seat asked for his help getting him back on the Orange County Disability Advisory Board.

“I have met with him twice in probably the last three weeks in Tallahassee. Once with him and his girlfriend, and then I think just this last week,” Antone said. “I said, Man, I saw the N-word tape. That was interesting. He says Oh, that was two years ago. And then he asked me to try to help him get back on the Disability Board by calling the Mayor’s Office … because they had ruined his reputation.”

VoxPopuli reached out to Orange County GOP Chair Erin Huntley, a candidate for House District 45 herself, for comment. No word yet on what the Republican leader thinks of this cross-aisle personal request.

For his part, Antone made a phone call, though it's unlikely to make a difference. "They're not going to reinstate him to the board," he said.
