McKenna Oxenden

McKenna Oxenden is a freelance journalist with more than a decade of experience covering a wide range of beats, from breaking news to local government to in-depth features. Her work often focuses on health, with a particular emphasis on women’s and reproductive health which has earned her top placings in national award competitions. Oxenden previously worked at the Houston Landing, where she covered the third largest county in the country as a government accountability reporter. Prior to that, she was a New York Times fellow on the breaking news team. She also worked at her hometown paper, The Baltimore Sun. Oxenden's work has also appeared in The Tampa Bay Times, USA Today and The Washington Post.
