“The best weapon to beat the coronavirus — especially this new Delta variant — is to get as many people as we possibly can vaccinated. And we have to go to all corners of the district to do that,” said Congresswoman Val Demings (D), who hosted a Covid-19 vaccine clinic with the Florida Department of Health in Orange County and 26Health at the Tildenville Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Garden on Aug. 27.

Everyone who got vaxxed received gift cards, grocery vouchers, backpacks with school supplies and plates with burgers, hotdogs, Memphis- and Carolina-style chicken and pork fresh from the grill, courtesy of Smokey Jay's BBQ. Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida was also on-hand for emergency rental assistance while 26Health offered free, on-the-spot testing for HIV, hepatitis C, syphilis, diabetes and cholesterol.
