At the Florida Legislative Update July 15, during a gathering of local Black lawmakers organized by Ocoee City Commissioner Larry Brinson, Sr., VoxPopuli asked state Sen. Randolph Bracy (D) about getting his scholarship/Ocoee Massacre reparations fund passed during the same legislative session that approved the most restrictive voting law since Jim Crow. While $6,100 helps with college expenses, can it compensate for the atrocity and the lost generational wealth? Will Sen. Bracy try to get more funding in the coming legislative session?
