After leading more than 110 people — residents, pastors, business owners, community advocates — in an imaginative exercise where stakeholders were encouraged to use magic markers to draw in parks, mixed-use buildings, housing and businesses on street maps of Center Street and surrounding areas, urban planner Jason King talked with VoxPopuli about coming back to the project after a five-year hiatus, building affordable housing, creating sustainable businesses, how the CRA can help create jobs and whether this area can finally get a grocery store.
